People are at the centre of our neighbourhoods. Our employee-led Foundation supports charitable organizations that are actively working to improve and positively impact the neighbourhoods in which we operate.  

FCR Thriving Neighbourhood Foundation was built upon 4 pillars: Mental Health, Food Insecurity, Social Justice, and Youth Initiatives. Since our Foundation’s inception in 2020, we’ve held several fundraising events and charitable initiatives to better serve our communities. In Calgary, we’ve hosted pancake breakfasts at Deer Valley Marketplace and McKenzie Towne Centre, with charitable 50/50 Raffle’s for CFCC. In 2024 we hosted our first pay-what-you-can Drive-in movie night at Deer Valley in support of CFCC. 

Giving back to our communities goes beyond fundraising, where volunteering at organizations across Canada is also vital part of our foundation.  Our staff have volunteered offsite at the Calgary Humane Society, The Alex Community Food Centre, The Mustard Seed Food Bank, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Shoppers Run for Women.

Food Insecurity & Poverty Reduction is our 2024-2025 Pillar of Focus, with Community Food Centres Canada as our chosen signature partner.
